Year 7 - Sequencing

Today we are starting a new topic called 'Sequencing' and will be focussing on Flowcharts. The PowerPoint and Flowchart document that Mr Bidwell went through in the lesson can be found below (if you need help):

Once you are happy with the concepts, you can work your way through the following tasks. Before starting each one, you should download the file to a 'Sequencing' folder in your ICT folders:

Task 1

Year 7 - Build your own Database using Microsoft Access

Your task for the next 4 lessons is to build your own database using Access. Ideas for your database could include:

• Your favourite films, music, games
• FIFA Ultimate Team Database
• Countries of the World
• Animals

Watch my demonstration carefully. The first 2 lessons will be about building a database. Next week we will be using the data to create 'forms'.

HELPFUL TIP No. 1: Think carefully about the fields you want to create for example, for 'Countries of the world' the fields I might create would be:

• Name
• Population
• Continent
• Flag
• Neighbours
• Capital City

HELPFUL TIP No. 2: When you create a new field, think carefully about the data that will be displayed. You must choose from text, attachments (if you want a picture), currency, date etc.

Animation - House Competition

You have 4 lessons to create a House themed animation using PowerPoint, Adobe Flash or Stop-Motion. Some ideas for your entry to include:

• the name of your house
• your house mascot/animal
• the name of your head of house
• the colours of your house
• your house charity
• house events
• your name
